About Daily Tinnitus

Hi! Over the next year, I will be attempting to review an album a day, every day. This sounds simple – it won’t be. The albums must…

1. Push my musical boundaries. I’m ruling out classical music, however. I don’t have all the time in the world!

2. Be listened to with  my full attention, without anything that could reasonably be called a distraction. This means, annoyingly, no reading, working, eating or casual masturbation during the listening itself.

3. Be listened to with an impartial ear. This, for me, will be the most difficult rule to follow, as it is difficult for me to lay aside prejudice when listening to music – but everybody’s the same, right?

4. Cost me nothing. This will fulfil a very practical need for frugality! In the spirit of the Tory/Lib. Dem. coalition I will be attempting to musically enrich myself and my horizons, for free. Assuming an album costs £7.99 from iTunes or Amazon and that I will be purchasing one a day, this will save me close to a whopping £3000. No laws will be broken, however, as I will rely on helpful donations from friends and family; as well as finally having a crack at the very many albums on my computer that have been left un-listened-to.
